PRAZNIK-2016 Three Day Event Report

University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) organized a three day management-cum-cultural fest - Praznik 2016 on 5th, 6th and 7th February 2016.
After being inaugurated by Prof. Navdeep Goyal, Dean Student Welfare and Brigadier JS Phoolka; the day began with a blood donation Camp which saw the enthusiastic support of several volunteers.

This fest, being organized by the management students, saw ample of interesting events and competitions including Brand fix, face painting, talkathon, Bitarka (Debate), Launch pad, lead HR, Sherlocked and talent Hunt hosted by RJ Aakriti from 92.7 Big FM. Students from various colleges and departments of Panjab University participated and won exciting prizes by PunjabiCart.com, Vivo and Verka. 
The first day of this 3 day long fest concluded with some amazing performances by Artha and Segulithic Image and Rudra band who enthralled the audience with their ear pleasing music powered by Oye Rooms.
The second day of PRAZNIK'16 saw some of the most influential speakers and industry leaders sharing their expert piece of advice via panel discussions on Make In India and Start-Up India, organized in association with ASSOCHAM. The event was sparked with the presence of veterans like Mr. Vikram Hans, Mr. Harshvir Singh, Mr. Rakesh Rattan, Mr. J.D. Ghai and some of the first generation entrepreneurs like Samir Sharma, Abhinav Aggarwal, Kshitij and Vineet Khurana. They discussed about starting up a business addressing issues like Funds arrangement, Experience, Education, etc. They concluded by emphasizing on their motto "Bake your own cake". The discussion concluded by an inquisitive question answer session and a healthy dose of inspiration to students.
This was follwed by interesting events like Best Manager, Star Tank, Sur-e-Praznik, Mr. and Mrs. Praznik. The stage was set on fire by ramp walk of participants in Vogue - the fashion show organized in association with Tress Lounge and Max. The day ended on a high note with a DJ night.
The early rains on the third and final day of the fest did not deter the enthusiasm of participants. It saw mesmerizing performances in events like Step-Up (solo dance), Virsa (folk dance) and Baile (western dance) by students from across the tri-city.
This was followed by Alumni Meet of the department organized by the Training and Placement Cell. The excited and nostalgic alumni were addressed by Chairman S.K. Chadha and director of the institute, Prof. Sanjeev K. Sharma. The day ended on a thrilling note sparked by performances of Inder Nagra, Babbal Rai and Jassi Gill.
Overall, the three day event was a gala affair in the winters warmed up by the enthusiasm of both participants and organizers.
